Last week I spend two very fun nights in Amsterdam. We stayed in Hotel the Exchange, a fashion boutique hotel right in the center of Amsterdam. The artsy rooms are designed by students of the Fashion Institute and all have their own unique feel and theme, they are given ratings ranging from 1 to 5 stars. We stayed in the 4 star costume drama designed Marie Antoinette room. The rooms surely have a fashion student design and feel to them and are an awesome source of inspiration and offer a great stay for young hip travelers and students. I loved the frilly gown like bed skirt in our room and love the idea of making my own! The artsy rooms are a bit trippy and don’t offer the rest, comfort and recreation other hotels offer, the 1 to 3 star rooms are very small but might be perfect for those on a budget. The 4 star room was fun and awesome for inspiration (I’m serious about wanting to make a bed skirt myself) but a wee bit too intense (I would have loved it when I was still a fashion student myself) I personally missed extras like a bigger bathroom, room service, bathrobes etc but that’s a personal preference of me ^^ I really think this hotel is awesome and I loved exploring every inch of it. The hotel is, in my opinion perfect for young travelers and (fashion) students who want an artsy, modern and different stay and who are design curious! xoxo

Above: The 4 star Marie-Antoinette room I stayed in. I loved the mirrors and the fabric panels on the wall. The bed has a super long and frilly bed gown/cover which is totally cute.
The hotel’s lobby, the people are super nice and helpful and gave super sugestions for diner and derections to shopping areas like the famous “9 straatjes”
